Responsibilities and Qualifications

Does not supervise. Is required to perform job duties with a minimal supervision. Able to make independent decisions when necessary. Limitations: 1) Does not take verbal or telephone orders from doctors; 2) Doe not initiate, terminate or regulate IV therapy; and 3) Does not administer medications. Will perform all work in accord to the mission, vision and values or Mercy Health Center. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

Because you're committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That's why you'll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED certificate. Experience: Patient care experience required. Certifications: American Heart Association BLS-C Training required. Other: Must have good oral communication skills both in person and over the phone to greet people and take messages and make arrangements. Must be able to stand or walk the majority of the shift. Able to push patients weighing up to 250 lbs. In a wheelchair or carrier. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Frequently bends and lifts during shift. Must complete ER Tech orientation and MHC orientation. Preferred Education: Nursing Students or EMT students preferred. Medical terminology knowledge preferred.Preferred Experience: Must be able to type and operate a computer.
