Product Development Designer – HOME

*Contract Position

Framingham, MA - Local Candidates only, please

In a team-centered environment, the contract Designer will work on a variety of Home product which could range from kitchen towels and decorative pillows to bath towels and top of bed for both adults and children. The designer will coordinate with the design managers and product specialists to execute artwork and prioritize projects according to the department’s time-and-action calendar. The work will include recoloring best sellers, incorporating new purchased artwork and creating new designs based on trend and need.

Responsibilities:

-Uses technical and creative knowledge and abilities to create saleable, trend-right monthly collections.

-Prepares completed, production-ready artwork packages in a timely manner based on the product type.

-Organizes materials and prioritizes projects based on the department’s seasonal deadlines.

-Works with outside freelancers to create new artwork (painting, illustration, layout). Creates original artwork/layouts in-house, as well.

-Researches and lays out presentation and trend boards.

Requirements:

-3-7 years’ experience in textiles

-Excellent color sense – experience recoloring and creating palettes

-Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign; Kaledo a plus

-Must be well-versed in prints – creating layouts, repeats, recoloring, redesigning and working with indexed files
-Must be highly creative, with a strong sense of fashion, color and design aesthetics

-Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects

-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
