Job Description

Shift Leaders Job Requisition

 

Management activities:
• The ability to manage time effectively and be self-directed under minimal supervision
• Taking responsibility for the business performance of the restaurant.
• Organizing marketing activities, such as promotional events and discount schemes.
• Preparing reports at the end of the shift/week, including staff control, food control and sales.
• Coordinating the front of the house operation of the restaurant during scheduled shifts.
• Experience performing payroll, scheduling, interviewing and training
• Managing staff and providing them with feedback.
• Customer relationship management inclusive of responding to customer complaints.
• Ensuring that all employees adhere to the company's uniform standards and policies.
• Meeting and greeting customers and organizing table accommodations.
• Building a rapport with pre-existing regulars as well as new guests in an effort to increase business.
• Organizing and supervising the shifts of FOH and BOH staff.
• Maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene, health and safety.
• Checking stock levels and ordering supplies.
• Preparing cash drawers and working cash registers (non-POS) when needed.
• Helping in any area of the restaurant when circumstances dictate.

 

 

Requirements

3+ years of solid experience in full service restaurant management (preferred).

High School Diploma or equivalent

Ability to communicate with diverse populations

Minimum 2 years as an assistant manager in retail/restaurant environment

Solid track record of success in previous assignments demonstrating upward career tracking

Strong communication skills

Must be dependable, reliable and motivated.

Able to work ten hour-plus shifts, with extensive standing/walking.

May lift materials and/or product up to 50 pounds or more.
