Job Description

Location: Aurora 

Shift: Store manager works 4 night shifts in an attempt to be at the store during the busiest shifts. 

Job Summary: The Store Manager is responsible for providing strategic direction for the dispensary and maintaining day-to-day operations of retail locations while ensuring best customer experience at all times. This includes managing all departments in the store setting and overseeing all positions underneath the store manager to ensure work is completed thoroughly and in a timely manner. S/he must be able to perform all tasks required of every position in the store. The Store Manager reports relevant sales and store information to necessary executives and deals with all staff management issues and customer concerns. S/he also handles all aesthetic issues and coordinates all store upkeep with necessary contractors and is on call for all potential store issues or to aid in decision making whenever required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage staff, including but not limited to: building a cohesive team by treating employees with respect and compassion, fostering store culture, disciplining and recognizing accomplishments when appropriate, and all facilitating performance reviews and one-on-one evaluations

  • Responsible for all staff and manager scheduling, including employee monthly meetings

  • Completion of weekly sales spreadsheets

  • Track discounts and employee-per-ticket averages monthly

  • Maintain and update all logs and forms

  • Keep store in accordance with all compliance laws and regulations

  • Complete inspections with necessary branches of police, fire, MED, public health and training assistant managers and JAM’s to perform successful inspections

  • Responsible for all recruiting, interviewing and hiring of employees

  • Conduct staff training for employees, both introductory and ongoing

  • Communicate with accountant regarding ATM levels and Garda change exchanges weekly; complete all Garda change exchange orders weekly or as needed

  • Partner with finance to budget and forecast financial, inventory, and patient/customer trends

  • Contribute to pricing policies by reviewing merchandising activities, identifying strategic sales promotions, studying trends, and conducting local competitive analyses

  • Maintain vendor relationships and act as a liaison with community stakeholders

  • Model communication of our brand, company mission, vision, and industry best practices

  • Create and maintain all Biotrack product profiles and all menus including GC website, HD Ping, Weedmaps, Leafly

  • Take in transferred/manifested product, enter new product into Biotrack system, and maintain barcoding procedure

  • Oversee price changes, inventory levels and ordering, department audits, and inventory organization

  • Track advertisements in accordance with regulations

  • Perform quality control and track customer/patient feedback for the purpose of improving customer experience

  • Work with communications department on feature menu content, sales promotions, outreach campaigns, and development of sales tools

  • Order necessary supplies for the store and communicate needs to appropriate branches of the company

  • Perform all tasks required of positions under Store Manager, including being the MOD on all shifts scheduled in the store

  • Complete tasks as needed for any department or executive as requested

  • Attend bi-weekly operations meetings at Corporate Office. Work directly with operations to continuously improve and streamline retail processes and procedures

  • Host store-specific manager meetings and company wide retail manager meetings (Aurora) alternating bi-weekly on Thursdays

  • Attendance sometimes required for events outside of work hours and additional meetings throughout the month

  • Store Manager may be utilized as a public face for the company and should be able to communicate the organization’s values to a large audience

Job Requirements (Education and Experience)

  • College Degree preferred

  • Experience in the industry preferred.

  • Previous management experience

  • Proven success increasing sales desired

  • Experience with customer service in a high volume retail sales environment

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • Excellent judgment under pressure

  • Extensive product knowledge (including but not limited to: extraction/infusion techniques, growing methods, genetics, Colorado MED and REC companies and the products they produce)

  • Colorado specific compliance knowledge, METRC experience is a huge plus

  • Genuine interest in the plant we are growing and selling and have a desire to help normalize marijuana

  • Provide compassionate care to medical patients

  • Able to lead by example and motivate staff, maintaining employee morale

  • Able to exemplify and execute the company’s core values

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Detail oriented

  • Quick learner and able to meet deadlines

  • Proficient in necessary technologies (POS systems, menu systems, inventory tracking system, Microsoft Suite, Apple OS)

  • Strong interpersonal and mediation skills
