Job Description

Description:

The GSOC Operator is responsible for performing CCTV and Alarm Monitoring duties for assigned campus of geographic area. The position will also perform duties involved with security system functionality and repairs, incoming and outgoing communications, report writing and generation, video investigations and access control. This position will build, improve, and maintain relationships with clients and employees; develop and retain best practices; coordinate needed support services; and solve problems to effectively maintain high level operations. This position will be responsible for meeting or exceeding operational goals, and providing quality customer service

Key Responsibilities:

In addition to the requirement of regular and predictable attendance for this position, list additional key responsibilities in order of importance to the job/department. Include the estimated time spent on each in a given week.
  1. Monitor, dispatch, disposition and properly report alarm activity within assigned area
  2. Actively monitor CCTV for assigned area to identify any potential issues or suspicious activity
  3. Provide accurate and timely communication to SOC Supervisor, Client, other personnel as required
  4. Deliver consistent and professional communication via phone, instant messaging, email, or in writing
  5. Initiate, complete and updated as needed, Incident Reports within the D3 platform.
  6. Execute proper protocols and communications during emergent events

  1. Ensures all required reporting and contract compliance requirements are met.
  2. Assures regular communication of issues to appropriate contact.
  3. Handles any escalated security issues or emergency situations appropriately.
  4. Other responsibilities as determined by client or Account Manager.
  5. Learn and maintain technical proficiency
  6. Follow all Capital One and Allied Universal policies as outlined in the employee handbooks, executive memos, and on the SharePoint portal.
  7. Work with system security installers and technicians to facilitate service calls.
  8. Extensive data entry and review
  9. Effective keyboarding skills (40 words per minute or better)
  10. Must be able to assess and evaluate situations effectively and able to identify critical issues quickly and accurately

Qualifications:

Qualified applicants for the GSOC Operator position will meet the minimum requirements, as described below:
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an operations center/call center environment
  • Experience in balancing stress and workload to ensure mission success and continuity of operations
  • Capable of accurately making critically important decisions with little information and time
  • High-level customer service skills as demonstrated by way of previous work history
  • Excellent grasp of MS Office suite and programs, to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Lenel, SharePoint, etc.
  • High-level analytic and computer skills; must be able to navigate menus and perform logic-based searches of data rapidly and effectively
  • Ability to interact effectively at various professional levels and across diverse cultures
  • Multitasking skills, including the ability to answer multiple phone lines, prioritize alarms, and efficiently dispatch security officers while receiving visitors, issuing/altering/deactivating ID badges, responding to emails, and monitoring CCTV equipment
  • Excellent communications skills, including a mastery of the English language-both written and spoken
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and high motivation level focused on success professional and calm demeanor, even under high pressure/stress
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time (the entire work day) without becoming distracted or complacent

LIST REQUIRED CERTIFICATION(S) If applicable

Preferred

Associates Degree or equivalent experience

Criminal Justice, IT, or related field

Previous security experience with focus in access control, badging operations or CCTV capabilities. Computer skills desire

At least 1 year previous relevant experience (depending on size and scope of client)

Certification(s) in Console and Dispatch operations desired

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex situations on an ongoing basis
  • Previous Console, Dispatch or Help Desk experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment while maintaining personal accountability
  • Key competencies: Intermediate to advanced computer skills, integrity, problem solving, conflict management, time management, customer focus, timely decision making, drive for results
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as requested or required.
