In this role, you’ll be given the opportunity to develop the skills and passion of team members and manage a small sub shop within a larger store setting.     Products (What We Do)

  • Educate and train employees to perform tasks including accurately assembling subs, the process for baking rolls and cookies, and production of sub ingredients, etc.
  • Follow Wegmans core recipes and job aides to ensure a consistent outcome in line with our standards of quality; oversee team’s work and correcting any errors
  • Ensure team members are properly handling products, using equipment, and keeping accurate logs in accordance with food safety and safety guidelines

Results (What We Measure)

  • Responsible for overseeing the entire operations of the Sub Shop, including ordering, scheduling, managing payroll & business flow, and ensuring department is operating profitably
  • Forecast department needs to accurately make production lists and prioritize tasks for employees

Work Environment

  • Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, repetitive hand and arm movements, bending, reaching, frequent lifting, and occasional heavy lifting, along with continuous interaction with customers and co-workers in a fast-paced environment. Work involves exposure to various work environments, including temperature changes. The average weight range of items lifted is 5-15 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 50 pounds rarely. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction)
  • Work may include use of hand pallet jack, power pallet jack, power walkie-reach, scissors lift or WAV unit. Wegmans certification required for use of power equipment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Customer service experience preferably in a food service, restaurant, grocery or retail setting
  • Food preparation experience
  • Managerial/supervisory experience

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and produce quality products with speed and accuracy
