Part Time Cashier

China Hut is seeking a Part-Time Cashier to join our restaurant team. China Hut Milwaukee has been the go-to place for Chinese take-out since 1995. This little restaurant has raised a family and built up a tight-knit community of restaurateurs across the metro-Milwaukee area. Most of our customers are loyal returnees who have been coming for 15+ years.

We are flexible and willing to train those new to the restaurant business and are willing support our employees in their endeavors during and beyond the business. We consider everyone who works for us to be part of our family.

We are looking for individuals looking to make money part-time, though are willing to make adjustments as necessary.

Responsibilities:

• You will take take-out orders in-person and over the phone. Our ticketing system is completely digitalized.
  • It'll take about a week of getting used to learning the syntax of our system
• You will pack each order according to the tickets
• You will help restock supplies during downtime.
• You are here to learn.
• You are encouraged to make suggestions as needed to facilitate a smooth workflow.
• You will treat our customers with kindness and respect.

Room for Development:

As you work with us, we will allow you the opportunity to take on more responsibilities. Some include:

• Working the fryer in the kitchen
• Assisting with the prep work
• Taking on the role of a Delivery Driver
  • *Delivery drivers have the same expectations in addition to learning the ticketing process for deliveries (you make additional income according to deliveries completed).

You will also be able to keep tips for the hours you've worked (tips typically range from 10-25 dollars a night).

We are hiring for part-time workers Tuesday through Sunday 3:00 p.m.-8: 00 p.m.

Our busiest hours are typically from 4:30 p.m-7:30 p.m. on the weekends.

Be mindful that the majority of the restaurant staff is bilingual, with English being their second language. We ask you to be patient and be creative in communication.

The first couple of weeks may be a bit rough, don't stress. It'll be about a month of training to get everything down. If you're on point with the learning curve and developing an efficient workflow, you will receive a reasonable pay raise based on performance.
