SMX in partnership with Pentair in Anoka Minnesota is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer. This is a 60 day contract. This position assists the business unit in meeting its strategic goals through continuous improvement activities. This will include leading and supporting kaizen events, Lean work cell design, standard product design revisions, cost improvement projects, DMAIC projects, capital expenditure projects and supply chain initiatives. Duties: ¿ Utilize strong electrical and controls automation skills, and develop technical requirements and specifications for outside vendors to bid and construct custom machines and control systems ¿ Lead the design, implementation, and commissioning of automated manufacturing production lines utilizing the appropriate technology ¿ Develop a complete project plans including resources, costs, benefits and schedule; assume full responsibility for all aspects of the project to ensure it meets goals and schedule; communicate project status to stake holders as appropriate; and follow up to ensure project results are sustained. ¿ Working with operators, team leaders and value stream planners, optimize process center layouts & designs.
