What you will do:

This role is responsible for effectively planning, managing, and overseeing the Company’s restaurant development function which includes real estate site selection, new restaurant construction, restaurant remodels, and facilities maintenance. The VP of Development is actively involved in all phases of development (sourcing, pre-development and development), manages an internal real estate and facilities team as well as interacts with real estate brokers, architects, landlords, consultants, municipal officials, general contractors and sub-contractors.  This role is responsible for delivery of multiple projects on time and on budget in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Requirements

What you need:

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years’ multi-unit experience within the restaurant, retail or hospitality field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience leading a development team at director or vice president level
  • Must possess expertise in at least two of the following areas:  real estate, facilities and/or construction
  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field, strongly preferred

Success Traits:

  • Thorough understanding of the development life cycle
  • Advanced working knowledge of operations, financials and control systems with focus on understanding and properly mitigating risk
  • Strong negotiation, financial modeling, due diligence and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with legal document construction including letters of intent, master agreements and leases
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Working knowledge of construction, construction budgets and methodologies preferred
