Welcome and acknowledge each and every guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting, using the guest’s name when possible.

Responsible for the Guest Rooms Preventive Maintenance Program.

Maintain proper records of the Rooms Preventive Maintenance Program and the Second Request Program.

Function as liaison with outside contractors.

Troubleshoot physical plant equipment and corrects problems.

Takes meter readings for electric, water gas and oil usage on a daily, weekly and monthly

basis.

Work on a wide range of general maintenance problems as listed in the complaint log, verbal,

written work order requests, from housekeeping, hotel guests, and management and/or front desk resulting from direct emergency calls.

Performs preventative maintenance necessary to maintain equipment, guestrooms and all physical plant equipment.

 Handle carpentry work and performs repairs to doors and windows, and replaces locks.

Repair floor carpets, paint, spackle, patch, and do masonry work.

Install, repair and program televisions.

Install and repair telephone systems (wiring etc.), all kinds of hardware, light systems, plumbing fixtures, motors, fans and pumps, HVAC equipment, etc.

Clean air duct systems, hood systems and air filters.

Act as Lobby Porter and Valet Delivery.

Communicate any assistance needed during busy periods to the manager to ensure optimum service to guests.

Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.

Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments.Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment.

Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager / supervisor.

Ensure uniform, nametags, and personal appearance are clean, hygienic, professional and in compliance with company policies and procedures.

Perform other job duties as required / requested.

Maintain all mechanical areas in an orderly and clean condition.

Inspect all public areas daily for burnt light bulbs

Participate in the hotel fire brigade.Respond or perform duties of a groundskeeper, handle and double check guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.

Complete work order request forms on a daily and timely basis.

Skills and Abilities: General knowledge of technical fields such as carpentry, painting, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.  Basic computer skills, excellent (verbal and written) communication skills, a professional presentation, and ability to work in a team atmosphere to make independent decisions.  Ability to learn new systems.
