Plan, schedule and manage finished goods inventory to meet customer demand requirements. Responsible for production plans, inventory results, and customer service for designated product group and/or production locations. This position steers inventory according to the essential Supply Chain Planning parameters like production frequency, lead times, capacity and related planning horizons. Supply Chain planner will interface with Demand Planners, Purchasing, Contract Manufacturers, Customer Service and Suppliers on a day to day basis. Plans and arranges own work to accomplish objectives; manages complex problems.

  • Develop weekly finished goods plans in APO / SAP per net demand requirements to support finished good production.

  • Mange Contract Manufacturers execution to Purchase Order requested delivery date / quantity.

  • Analyze mid to long term capacity constraints and provide recommendations to proactively resolve constraints. Quantify business unit decisions as it relates to inventory goals and budgets.

  • Proactively communicate with customer service when availability issues arise that will impact order fulfillment.

  • Maintain and ensure master data accuracy of SAP. Determine optimized order quantities, safety stock parameters and production frequencies.

  • Prepare and present obsolete material reports, inventory aging reports, and disposal requests on a monthly basis to appropriate site manager, brand manager/business unit, and financial analyst.

  • Collaborate with purchasing departments to ensure appropriate lead times, and minimum order quantities are in effect.

  • Steer overall inventory to meet inventory and customer service goals.

  • Develop efficient communication processes with contract manufacturing sites through meetings, reporting schedules, SAP supplier portal functionality, etc.

  • Work with Marketing and Material Planning to manage packaging and unique component run-out, minimizing inventory write-offs.

  • Lead Monthly Supply Chain initiatives (i.e. Slow moving / obsolete process) for business unit as needed.

  • Help identify and lead opportunities for continuous process improvements and targeted YoY inventory reduction strategies.

  • May have direct reports.

  • Help mentor and support supply planners in resolving issues as needed.

Qualification:

  • Understanding of master production scheduling / planning, MRP and inventory management processes and systems.

  • Working knowledge of transportation, distribution, and customer service systems/processes.

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team skills.

  • Highly motivated, proactive, detail oriented and seeks accuracy in work product.

  • Capable of working in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products, especially Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and vlookups).

  • Must have demonstrated ability to create concepts, practices, and tools to resolve problems or improve processes.

  • Must have demonstrated example leading a successful process improvement.

  • General knowledge of industry practices, standards, and techniques. May need to regularly apply the full array of all relevant principles and concepts in execution of duties.

  • Understanding knowledge on the end to end supply chain (transportation, warehousing, distribution, purchasing, production or manufacturing operations, forecasting, supply planning, customer service).

  • SAP experience a plus but not required

  • Education — B.S. or B.A. degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field

  • Experience — 5 - 8 years of experience in supply chain related field
