Job Summary

Generate Master Production Schedule (MPS) to derive optimum finished goods stock level for each item aligned with master supply plan.  Manage all elements of Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) System to generate material requirements to support MPS.  Assist with work-order scheduling while balancing manpower and equipment resources.  Provide input to productivity and quality improvement initiatives and seek cost reduction opportunities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Generate and maintain MPS for responsible product groups based on forecast demand, production availability, material availability and inventory requirements aligned with master supply plan.
  • Release and track work in process to support schedule.
  • Active contributor to process improvement team working with Operations, Quality and Engineering to address any issues impacting schedule and continual improvement projects
  • Participate and continually improve plant standard work including capacity requirements planning, customer service review meetings and visual factory boards
  • Interface with demand planning and customer service in communicating and resolving inventory and order related questions
  • Contributes/Participates as Core Team member as required for New Product introductions

  • Experience with manufacturing processes (GDP, GMP) used in the orthopedic implant industry is preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to partner with logistics, sourcing, R&D and other internal functions with proven record of successful collaboration and problem resolution.
  • Knowledge of effective root cause analysis (RCA) tools to participate and lead RCA’s.
  • Advanced understanding and interdependencies of supply chain management and ability to balance multiple objectives.
Education/Experience Requirements

Education Requirements

A bachelor\'s degree in a business or engineering discipline or equivalent work experience is preferred; Minimum of 1 years of production planning experience in a manufacturing environment.

 

Skill Requirements

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and powerpoint. Basic knowledge of MRP and computer-based information systems.  Experience with J. D. Edwards (JDE) and databases (Access, SQL) a plus.

 

Licenses/Certifications – APICS certification is preferred
