Position Overview

This position is open to qualified candidates based in the state of Texas.

Responsibilities

The Technical Application Specialist - Hematology/Urinalysis will solve problems independently and within established policies and procedures. Their primary objective is to ensure customer satisfaction in the clinical laboratories within a defined territory. They are responsible for timely system implementation, training, and ongoing customer support. They are responsible for managing their customer base and retaining the business in their primary territory. Orchestrate implementation plans with customers for new instruments and assays. Facilitate operator training within the lab to ensure primary operators are competent with targeted equipment. Assist in facilitating the proper customer support for resolving and/or escalating technical issues. Works in conjunction with the Service and Sales organization to provide necessary customer support.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

BA/BS preferably in Medical Technology; thorough technical knowledge of medical technology; 2+ years of laboratory experience; prior field experience is preferred; strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively handle customer problems and support the sales team's efforts; ability to prioritize critical customers and handle the crisis customers first; computer literacy is mandatory (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.); strong presentation and selling skills; must be completely aligned with the corporate Vision, Values and Beliefs; job requires a large amount of travel and driving within the region; must have a clean driving record over last three years.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience: Job Family Responsibilities:

Demonstrates single system products, participates in customer training and pre- and post sales support of clinical product offerings. Participates in-house clinical trials. Participates in training courses for customers and company personnel on the working aspects of single system clinical equipment and communicates the technical and clinical information, ensuring customer utilizes equipment with efficiency and skill in appropriate applications. May participate in product promotion for trade shows and seminars. Supports development of customer relationship. Provides most complex feedback and recommendations from customers to product development groups. Education:

BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas.

Knowledge and Experience: Demonstrates a good grasp of knowledge and principles of field of specialization and applies through successful completion of assignments. Successfully applies knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Typically 2-5 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable. Direction of Others: May provide general guidance or train lower level support staff.

Key Working Relationships: Primarily intra-organizational contacts and some external contacts.
