Position Summary:

Oversee outside architectural and engineering firms responsible for the Heating, Ventilating, & Air Conditioning (HVAC) designs for all within the walls remodels, expansion and new store projects for all divisions. Essential Job Functions:

• Review Heating, Ventilating & Air Conditioning (HVAC) designs done by outside architectural and engineering firms.
• Ensure that plan designs are technically accurate and consistent with division and corporate requirements.
• Follow redlines, rough sketches and written work scopes to assist in mechanical plan development.
• Maintain a high level understanding of mechanical design applications and equipment function.
• Regularly meet project deadlines.
• Maintain mechanical design standards for the company and ensure that architects and engineers are applying standards appropriately.
• Develop specifications and complete technical due diligence for equipment prior to a procurement bid.
• Final approval and accountability on HVAC designs. (Level 7)
• Train, lead and direct the work of internal and external resources within a field of expertise.
• Investigate new innovation and technology.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Ability to read and understand HVAC designs.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Basic financial training. (i.e. Return on Investment, Rate of Return)
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and 3rd party control software.
• Ability to perform Life Cycle Analysis.
• Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Ability to communicate complex items in a simple, straightforward manner with all levels of employees and outside vendors.
• Ability to formulate and execute plans and proposals.
• Ability to travel independently (25%).

Desired Previous Job Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3 years of experience in HVAC system applications.
• Refrigeration designer.
• Exposure to refrigeration disciplines/study.
• Proficiency in use of AutoCAD.
