Caregiver Immediate Openings - Part-time

Caregiver

The Caregivers are the back bone of the Quality of Service provided to the Residents. They provide individual care starting from waking up the Residents, giving showers, grooming, taking for dining, activities, providing medication, answering calls and assisting them back to beds at night. They must have the natural personality to feel empathy and consideration for old age and the demands associated with it. Caregivers must have first aid certificates.

GENERAL DUTIES

• Answer call-lights promptly.
• Shower/Bathe Residents according to the shower schedule and as directed by the Administrator or as requested by the Resident or the family. Give shampoos routinely.
• Assist Residents in dressing and undressing.
• Provide care for Residents' mouth and teeth.
• Comb and arrange hair of Residents.
• Hang or fold Residents' clothing.
• Assist with bedpan or urinals.
• Clean and store equipment.

MEDICATION

• Set up and administer medication. Must ensure no unattended medication anywhere in the Facility.
• Document medication/s taken accurately and up to date at all times.
• Notify Administrator of low stock of any medication.
• Keep Nurses Notes accurate and up to date.

RESIDENTS ROOMS

• Keep clean and in neat order.
• Keep beds made up at all times.
• Keep rooms free of smell at all times.

DINING ROOM

• Clean chairs.
• Clear and clean tables.
• Change tablecloths, if needed, and reset tables.
• Assist in kitchen clean up as directed or needed.

RESIDENT DINING

• Serve Residents during meal times.
• Assist Residents in eating as requested by Resident or Administrator.
• Clear entree before serving dessert, when the Resident requests dessert.

ACTIVITIES

• Assist Residents to activities and to perform activities.
• Conduct activities for Residents as and when requested by the Administrator.

LAUNDRY

• Assist housekeeper with laundry as directed or needed.
• Assist as necessary with any other duties that will provide the best possible care to the Residents of Crescent Villa/ Canyon House, which may not be listed in this job description.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Experience with home health care is not required, but is helpful
• Must have own transportation, valid driver’s license and auto insurance
• Must have references and a good work history
• Must pass a comprehensive set of background checks
