POSITION SUMMARY
:


This position directs and organizes the activities of the Beverage department in order to maintain the high standard beverage quality, service, and marketing to maximize profits through outstanding customer service. This person will plan and direct the functions of the Beverage department to meet the daily needs of the operation. They will implement effective controls of all beverage and bar products. The Beverage Director ensures compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness standards.

The Beverage Director will direct inventory control, ordering and beverage concepts for all food outlets at Seaport including but not limited to the Rooftop Restaurant, Rooftop Concessions, Catering Kitchen, River Deck Concessions, Kiosks, and 10 Corso Como. The Food and Beverage Operations Director will report to the Managing Director of Food and Beverage and the General Manager of Food and Beverage Pier 17.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
:
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Ensure staff understands local, state, and Federal liquor laws.
  • Monitor alcohol service in compliance with standards and laws.
  • Ensure that all liquor, beer, and wine is securely locked away.
  • Manage the wine program with internal and external resources.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of inventory of beer, soda, juices, cooking liquors, and wines.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all state liquor laws.
  • Provide floor service when required.
  • Create new cocktails and recipes.
  • Maintain all existing wine & beverage lists and dessert menus.
  • POS menu maintenance.
  • Implement cost control procedures.
  • Prepare the daily cashier report for all beverage sales.
  • Keep General Manager and Managing Director promptly and fully informed of all issues (i.e. problems, unusual matters of significance and positive events) and take prompt corrective action where necessary or suggest alternative courses of action.
  • Complete job responsibilities and performance objectives in a timely and effective manner and in accordance with HHC planning.
  • Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate that will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness.
  • At all times provides a favorable image of HHC.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
:
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in digital marketing, social media, and website management.
  • Highly analytical and metrics-driven, in addition to creative-thinking.
  • Basic understanding of various online marketing principles and commonly used analytic reporting interfaces.
  • Ability to work across multi-digital/marketing teams and channels.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to handle multiple projects.

  • Implement HHCs safety and emergency policies and procedures (i.e. evacuation, first aid, etc.) to include removing all safety hazards, following companys OSHA program, and safe lifting techniques.
  • Promptly report substandard (unsafe) conditions to Supervisor.
  • Promptly report accidents, injuries, property damage, or loss to Supervisor.
  • Inform management promptly of any work-related problems or guest complaints.
  • Promote Pier 17 through goodwill, courtesy, and a positive attitude.
  • Attend all scheduled training classes and meetings.
  • Perform any reasonable request as assigned or directed by management.
  • Assist person(s) with a disability.
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws ordinances as they apply to the Pier, guests, and employees.
  • Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs.
  • Ability and willingness to work closely with others.
  • Five years experience in a supervisory role in a restaurant or bar.
  • Strong knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits.
  • Ability to make quick decisions in high stress situations.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:

  • Bachelors or related degree preferred but not required.
