Furniture Repair Tech

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assess damages and choose appropriate repair method for various materials

• Work with hands and tools to repair various types of furniture

• Refinishes and patches damaged furniture using a variety of materials

• Repair, replace, and rebuild damaged leather/upholstery furniture or mechanical parts

• Operate tools such as power drills, sanders, saws, and other tools required for repair

• Maintain a daily log of completed repairs

• Maintain a neat and safe work environment

Qualifications

At minimum:

• Must be skilled in upholstery, case goods (wood), and leather

• Previous experience working with marble, fabric, and metal

• Ability to color match and blend

• Competent in wood repairs, including burn-ins and wood graining

• Experience repairing leather, including scuffs, holes, and tears

• Experience repairing upholstery, including structural and mechanism replacements

• Excellent time management skills and attention to detail

• Desire to work and meet daily goals

• Ability to work under time constraints

• High School Diploma

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must be able to routinely lift or move objects up to 75 pounds alone and team lift objects over 75 pounds. This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday.
