Program Overview
The program is designed to identify high-caliber talent to build our organization with the best and the brightest students who come from a variety of sourcing channels, including on-campus career fairs, partner organizations, and direct applications. In this role you will immerse yourself into the Comcast culture, working side by side with innovative and talented Comcasters. You will cultivate meaningful relationships and develop strong interpersonal and business skills that will set you apart from your peers.
Additionally, your experience will include:
* Engagement: Working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units at Comcast during your cooperative experience.
* Exposure: An inside look into the day-to-day operations of an organization at the cutting edge of media and technology.
* Professional Development: Exposure to a variety of professional development topics facilitated through our partners at Comcast University and senior leaders within the organization. These sessions include speaker series, skill-building workshops, and networking opportunities.

Role Overview
The VREX team supports billions of voice queries each year and is the largest video voice technology in the world. The intern position would help key team members develop features and research solutions more quickly.A wide range of activities are open to the inter depending on her/his career path and abilities. Internsin our team have developed key-patented technology. The student could end up working on our Machine Learning pipeline, helping scale across our AWS infrastructure, or helping the product manager visualize specific ways to integrate home automation commands into voice commands.
Intern duties to include, but not limited to:
* Working with Microservices based deployment architecture, synchronizing and analyzing user state.
* Learning and developing technology to control the deployment process properly for each Microservice, ensuring health of service, containerization, and developing architectures that properly flow user state as needed, prototyping a flow based model based on flume/ kinesisvs a more traditional Cassandra based model
* Compiling user data to ML infrastructure, and implementing the ML infrastructure and working with research to scale particular ML algorithms.
* Machine Learning is used to train classifiers to properly identify certain patterns in human speech.Student could help at any point in this process, creating classifiers or creating the pipeline to take the new classifiers and place them into GPU machines in production. As well as testing to make sure that new patterns do not regress the accuracy of the system, or that the pipeline is healthy and adequately resourced to meet the current load.
Preferred Qualifications/Requirements
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a United States-based college or university.
Major: Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Technology
Minimum GPA: 3.0
Knowledge of ElasticSearch, Kinesis, Lambda, Spring, Java, Python
Familiar with Micro-services and supporting technology such as Docker, Nginx, Zuul a plus
Strong interest in the telecommunications, cable and media industries.
Ability to work on a team.
Authorized to work in the United States of America.
