Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

· A Forklift /Dock man supervisor successfully loads and unloads freight throughout the shift using a forklift in a safe, efficient manner. Would train on morning shift and then work a second shift, evening (2pm-12am), occasionally Saturdays, supervisor will instruct other forklift operators with receiving and shipping task of TL shipment through our docks daily using handheld scanners.

· Supervised activities and processes involved with the loading and unloading of trucks

· Working on dock while observing of loading and unloading operations to ensure proper receiving and shipping of freight without damage.

· Responsible for staffing work assignments/rotations, employee training, employee breaks, overtime assignment, and coverage for absent employees Provide on-going coaching for existing staff

· Analyze dock processes and procedures to produce maximum service with minimal downtime

· Utilize Dock to consistently monitor receiving freight,put away location and shipments throughout the warehouse

· Responsible to meet warehouse safety, productivity.

· Read and interpret shipping labels. Familiarity with, and in some cases ability to complete the various forms utilized in freight movement such as shipping orders, trailer stripping.

· Record and manage freight using FIFO within appropriate timelines

· Utilize computer skills in a WMS environment

· Provide oral and written communication to all levels of employees within the Company

· Organize and prioritize work

· Perform other duties as assigned by Warehouse Manager

Qualifications Required Education and Experience:

· High School diploma and/or some college education desirable

· 3 years leadership experience preferred (A combination of education and experience is acceptable)

· Problem solving and analytical skills

. Reliable transportation

· Written and verbal communication skills

· Practical knowledge of inventory using handheld scanners and reports

· Experience with Dock Operations

· Experience with material handling equipment.

· Ability to follow safety rules and regulations a must

· Previous forklift experience a must.

· Hands on environment
