About this job
Directs and coordinates purchasing and distributing of raw materials and control of inventory levels by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. Supervises and directs Customer Service personnel and order entry processes
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develops and implements purchasing, and inventory control procedures and systems to minimize inventories while maintaining customer delivery requirements.
Works with Engineering and Quality to find and assess new vendors per PUR125, Vendor Approval work instructions.
Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability.
Coordinates and supervises activities to process customer orders and maintain effective customer relations.
Inputs, confirms, and changes bills of material on system.
Negotiates contracts with suppliers.
Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
Maintains Material Safety Data Sheet system.
Responsible for disposal of hazardous materials.
Control, measure and regulate efficient inventory levels of materials commodities, and purchased items and freight costs. This includes monitoring sampling materials inventory for currency & disposition.
Arranges for disposal of surplus materials.
Delete
Serves as back up for Customer Service and backs up material movements for Accounting.
Tracks customer tooling for property tax reporting purposes.
IQMS or Plastics preferred

College graduate in business or engineering. A minimum of five years purchasing and/or inventory control experience in a supervisory capacity in a manufacturing environment.
