A role in Global Trade Services means you will play a key role in supporting Target’s high degree of compliance with US Customs laws and regulations, maintaining the speed of our best-in-class import supply chain while ensuring that Target avoids fines and penalties for non-compliance with import regulations. You will also provide training and guidance to internal and external partners on Target import practices, Customs requirements and provide consultation to internal partners aimed at minimizing Customs duties and supporting Global Supply Chain and Logistics goals.
 
As a Sr. Customs Special Initiatives Specialist, you’ll play a key role in reducing supply chain expense by supporting Target’s duty savings initiatives, including the First Sale Program, as well as maintaining Target’s high degree of compliance with US Customs laws and regulations. Leverage your attention to detail through analyzing vendor documentation to ensure compliance with First Sale valuation. Drive your partnerships with vendors through new vendor training, communicating document needs and providing feedback to maintain accuracy. Identify and escalate compliance issues to Customs Special Initiatives Sr. Analyst. We’ll support you along the way with onboarding, as well as personal and career development, to help you grow as a strong Sr. Customs Special Initiatives Specialist. About you:
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent problem solving, research, and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Performs work with minimal direction and independently sets daily tasks and prioritization. Continually drive for efficiency.
  • Communicates effectively with internal and external partners to influence, educate, and drive accountability
  • US Customs knowledge or relevant experience with international trade and regulatory compliance.
