Description
The Material Handler is responsible for the accurate receiving, storing, picking, put away, and shipping of product to meet company standards of safety, security and productivity.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure that product is received safely per proper receiving procedure, unloading to pallets, stacking, height, arrows up, carton assortment multiple carton per SKU and serialized units
Receive pallets to floor aligned by vendor to ensure accurate completed receipt by purchase order
Ensure the proper staging and loading within outbound trailers as per shipping best practices
Ensure accuracy of load per best practices (arrows up for larger cartons on the bottom and lighter cartons to the top)
Stacking library items left to right to insure safe handling practices are achieved for unloading
Ensure product stored/putaway/picked/shipped accurately and in a manner that will not damage the items
Comply with individual, team and departmental productivity and performance goals
Conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety and in accordance with federal, state, and local laws
Perform or assist in building, grounds, and housekeeping as required
Abide by all security policies and procedures
Ensure that the warehouse is consistently clean and free of debris
All other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of one (1) year distribution experience
Basic mathematics and reading skills
Strong understanding of inventory flow
Strong organizational skills
Strong communication skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to consistently lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting and walking up and down stairs
Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors up to 100% of shift
Ability to lift, push, and pull up 100 lbs. for approximately 100% of shift
Ability to reach at shoulder level for approximately 80% of shift
Ability to reach overhead for approximately 80% of shift
Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity to include grasping and holding
Ability to work at elevated heights and in confined spaces

- Must be able to begin shift at 7 AM
- Must be flexible on end time, able to work up to 12 hours per day
- Must be able to work on feet up to 100 percent of shift
- Must be able to work Monday through Friday
- Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs. and have knowledge of proper lifting techniques
