Title:  Data Center Operations Analyst                                              FLSA: Non-Exempt      Reports To:  Team Lead, Data Center Operations                            Supervises:  N/A Department: Enterprise Operations - 9042                                      Level: Staff

Job Summary:  The Data Center Operations Analyst has responsibility and accountability for monitoring all servers for general operability and availability and provide administration and support for the data center software in a hosted, private cloud and co-location environment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor all servers, including email, network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), for general operability and availability, including uptime and performance

  • Provide tier 1, and possibly up to tier 3, support on Windows Server OS, Linux Server, Cisco Meraki Network routers and switches

  • Provide tiers 1, 2, and 3 administration and support on the following applications: SAP Remote Ware, CA Workload Automation(Autosys)

  • Perform and manage Store Systems deployment via TCP (Remote Ware) over Wide Area Network.  Manage production control, dataflow, support, scheduling and batch processing

  • Provide in-depth documentation and participate in projects and initiatives as needed

  • Experience monitoring data center environments in multiple locations

  • Support Systems Administrators, Developers, DBA’s and other teams and departments as needed

  • Monitor security procedures and access to Support Center and Data Center

  • Monitor Data Center facility support systems (air conditioning, power, etc)

  • Maintain effective shift notes and shift checklists in a timely manner.

  • Monitor all systems/processes; escalate and assume ownership of issues as needed to ensure resolutions are provided in a timely manner

  • Provides customer support in a 24x7 environment and handles each interaction with diplomacy and tact.

  Job Qualifications:
  • Must be willing to work any shift in 24hr/day, 7day/week operation, including holidays, on rotation and work overtime as needed in a very dynamic environment.  Must be flexible and capable of working overtime as necessary while on normal shift, and/or cover vacant shifts as needed for sick and vacation time.  Shift work ranges from 3 – 12 hour shifts to 4 – 10 hour shifts

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products

  • Knowledge of Windows (DOS command line) and Linux (Command Line) Operating Systems, and shell scripting

  • Experience in Systems and Data Center Operations in a 24/7 production environment

  • Experience with Solar winds monitoring software

  • Knowledge of general networking principles preferred

  • Entry Level Systems Administration experience preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the Information Technology field, education in process, or equivalent experience

 

Relationships/Contacts: Will be working with Director of Systems Operations, Support Systems Administrators, Developers and DBA’s

    Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:

    Willing to work any shift in 24hr/day, 7day/week operation, including holidays, on rotation and work overtime as needed in a very dynamic environment. Be flexible and capable of working overtime as necessary while on normal shift, and/or cover vacant shifts as needed for sick and vacation time.  Shift work will normally be from 3 – 12 hour shifts to 4 – 10 hour shifts.  Typical four 10 hour shift is Monday evening through Friday morning.  The typical three day 12 hour shift is Friday evening through Monday morning.
