Banquet Beverage Captain

Hotel Overview: Fairmont Austin offers 1,048 guestrooms and suites, along with 140,000 square feet of meeting and event space. This is your opportunity to be part of the most anticipated hotel opening in one of the fastest growing markets in the US.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Banquet Beverage Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
* Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
* Supervise the Banquet Beverage team in all aspects of the department and ensure service standards are followed
* Assist Banquet Servers and Bartenders in all food and beverage items for assigned banquetmeetings
* Address guest concerns and react quickly and professionally
* Train Banquet Beverage Colleagues in the absence of a trainer
* Participate in scheduled departmental meetings
* Ensure proper staffing and scheduling of all Banquet Beverage Colleagues
* Review banquet event orders to ensure the proper set-ups are in place
* Have full knowledge of all menu items being served
* Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards
* Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
* Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
* Previous luxury hotel Banquets experience required
* Previous Point of Sale System experience preferred
* Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications an asset
* University/College degree in a related discipline an asset
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
* Highly responsible & reliable
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
* Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
* Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
* Constant standing and walking throughout shift
* Frequent lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
* Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
* Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
