Import Coordinator needed for a well-established & successful freight forwarder located near JFK.
The incumbent MUST have a thorough understanding of purchase orders & logistics experience.
Prior experience handling wine & spirits (in logistics capacity) a big plus, however not required.
The Import Coordinator will be assisting in the processing of orders received from their clients. This position will assist in all aspects of account management which includes but not limited to: logistics & coordination of shipments, coordination of purchase orders, maintaining contact with clients, communication with overseas agents, etc.
Other duties include but not limited to:
- Preparation of forwarding instructions, booking confirmations, and coordination of ISF information
- Review documents for accuracy
- Respond to customer inquiries
- Support and back up other departments within organization as needed
To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have the following:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- 2+ years of experience handling logistics (coordination of imported freight) AND purchase orders from either a freight forwarder or importer
- Experience with Excel
- Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment
