Project Leader (15983) - Full-time

The successful candidate will have excellent project management, problem solving skills, computer skills, excellent written and verbal presentation skills, and a strong customer service orientation. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, have experience managing projects of moderate complexity and have experience providing consulting services including analysis, documentation, presentation and implementation of findings and recommendations.

The FPS Project Leader is responsible for the ongoing management of projects and engagements, including: software system implementations; user training and support; school transportation planning consulting and analysis. This individual works closely with clients to develop route plans that optimize school transportation resources and control costs.

Student and/or general transportation and logistics experience helpful, but we will train and develop the right individual who is motivated and looking for a good challenge and the opportunity to grow. Project Leader Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Resource requirements, timelines, deliverables and communications.
• Software Training and Customer Support: One-on-One, group, online, in-person. Design materials and training plans. Provide telephone and remote end user support.
• Bus Route Planning: Using computer-based routing tools, assist clients as needed with on-site or remote school transportation routing and maintenance, particularly with startup, scenario changes or other urgent situations.
• Transportation Consulting: Performs complex routing analysis including efficiency studies or scenario analysis, such as boundary, bell time transportation rules changes. Develop appropriate reports and present and defend findings.
• Business Development: Assist in the RFP proposal responses for contract business. Support sales and marketing efforts of FPS Consulting Services. Provide system demonstrations; participate in sales presentations and/or calls as needed.
• FPS In-House Software Applications: Participate in the development and maintenance of FPS in-house web applications and tools. Provide ideas and execution for new tools and processes to increase productivity.

Project Leader Experience and Skills Required:

• Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree required. Significant coursework and/or experience in computer technology required.
  • Ability to complete projects on time and on budget with superior client satisfaction.
  • Excellent problem solving, written and verbal communications and presentation skills.
  • Proven experience working independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite.
  • Proven ability to take high level business requirements and create viable solutions.
  • Experience managing customer relationships.
  • Ability to perform under pressure.
• Preferred Skills:
  • Experience conducting detailed analysis and presenting findings to top level leadership.
  • Experience as a teacher, instructor or trainer.
  • Proficiency navigating, querying MS SQL and MS Access databases.
  • Experience deploying and supporting complex software applications.
  • Logistics or transportation planning experience.
  • Knowledge or experience with GIS-based logistics software.
  • Experience with Edulog and/or Versatrans school transportation software.
