Under the general direction of Maintenance leadership, this role will be responsible for managing all store and facilities maintenance activities for the division.

  • Participate in divisional planning sessions to set department goals; Keep all projects on schedule, communicate updates to Maintenance Leadership

  • Oversee a maintenance team compiled of a Maintenance Coordinator and Skilled Trade team
  • Work with Maintenance Leadership to manage store and facilities maintenance activities for efficiency, safety compliancy and cost
  • Prioritize work of others based on strategic plan; Allocate resources appropriately
  • Provide direction, communication, and feedback to others to ensure integrated solutions

Results (What We Measure)

  • Participates in the process for contractor selections in division for refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, mechanical & plumbing work
  • Assist in overseeing all areas of the division’s Store Maintenance Operations; Ensure procedures are followed, and equipment is operating correctly; Ensure proper execution for seasonal programs (landscaping etc.)
  • Review and approve CIP's (Capital Improvement Plans) for refrigeration, HVAC electrical, mechanical & plumbing work; Develop capital improvement program for facilities work
  • Help develop budget for store general maintenance cost centers for assigned stores; Review and approve budgets for refrigeration, HVAC and electrical work

Work Environment

  • Physical demands include walking, standing, repetitive hand and arm movements, as well as work in, on and around backrooms, roofs, and crawlspaces
  • Work generally involves continuous interactions with customers, contractors, store personnel, and co-workers in a fast-paced environment
  • Will be required to spend the majority of time sitting or standing without a break for up to 4 hours
  • May be exposed to various allergens
  • Will be exposed to various climate changes
  • Must be 18 years or older

Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical or equivalent experience
  • Commercial maintenance management experience, including familiarity with preventative and predictive maintenance best practices
  • Experience at the Coordinator/Analyst/Department Manager level or equivalent external experience
  • Grocery retail maintenance experience

Preferred Skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in a changing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology to perform job responsibilities, including the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) component of EAM
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting
  • Knowledge of layout and design techniques
  • Knowledge of refrigeration, high and low voltage electrical systems, hydrodynamics (glycol) and hydraulics
  • Possess systems aptitude, with the ability to learn and quickly adapt to new systems
