Base Area Team Lead - Full Time, Year Round, Vail Mountain

 

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Responsible for supervising the grounds maintenance, waste diversion, and parking operations on a year round basis.
  • Ensure quality results of our daily maintenance tasks, operational duties, and special projects.
  • Provide exceptional guest service to internal and external customers.
  • Promote a safe and positive work environment for employees.
  • Work as a team to ensure 7 days a week coverage and continuity between crews.
  • Responsible for ensuring that safety is paramount in all operations, including vehicle and equipment operations and overall safety of our base areas.
  • Monitor departmental compliance in daily operations.
  • Ensure all vehicles and equipment are clean, safe, and properly maintained.
  • Work with supervisor to develop, prioritize, and effectively implement the departmental work list.
  • Carry out performance management for all team members in the department
  • Supervise a winter team consisting of up to 22 employees and a summer staff of up to 9 employees. 
  • Responsible for managing time and labor for all team members in the department.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

 Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma - required.
  • Fluent English - required.
  • Valid Driver's License - required.
  • Direct supervisory experience of greater than 5 people  ( 3 years preferred ) - required.
  • Lift up to 100 lbs - required.
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office - required.
  • Light duty equipment operation ( 2 years ) - preferred.
  • Outdoor winter environment experience - preferred.
  • Landscaping / Irrigation / Flower / Guest service / Waste Diversion/ Plow experience - preferred.

 

Early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.
