Credentialing Support Representative

LOCATION: Downtown Portland

SALARY: $15 -17/hour DOE

JOB DESCRIPTION: Great opportunity to join a growing company in Downtown Portland as a Credentialing Support Representative! This position offers a casual atmosphere that is even dog friendly! This need has a high likelihood of becoming a fulltime hire after 3-4 months. You'll be working Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

Position Description:
Oversees the credentialing process for practitioners and facilities, assists in facility site reviews, assists with network recruitment, assists with contracting, and maintenance of applicable databases. Provides support to the Administrative Supervisor. Assists staff in the Administration Department.

Essential Job Functions:
1.Oversees the implementation and coordination of procedures for credentialing and recredentialing of facilities and practitioners. Responsible as directed for communication with network on network relation issues. Must utilize mental acuity, speed and agility.
2. Assures that primary source verification is completed within appropriate time frame to ensure proper credentialing.
3.Maintains provider databases in order to reflect most current information. Documents protocols to assure adequate back up of provider database changes within the provider files. Ensures coordination of the various databases, links between the databases, and ability to obtain information from those databases. Assists in writing reports and distribution of provider rosters.
4.Coordinates communication on credentialing related topics with appropriate health plans and other organizations as needed.
5.Assists to handle all facets of administration including writing and documentation of policies, procedures, and protocols used by the department.
6.Performs other duties as assigned by Senior Vice President of Operations.

Working Environment:
The duties of this position are performed primarily in an office environment, seated at a desk or using telephones most of every day.

Qualifications:
1.Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Diplomatic and empathetic communication skills are essential.
2.Ability to handle a variety of projects simultaneously while encountering frequent interruptions (demonstrated organizational and time management skills).
3.Must remain flexible and have a positive, cheerful working demeanor.
4.Must be able to handle stress effectively and not take matters personally.
5.Word processing experience using WordPerfect or similar product.
6.Knowledge of Access or similar data entry and database maintenance.
7.Typing minimum 30 wpm.
8.Punctuality and good attendance required.

Education and Experience:
1.High school graduate or GED.
2.Minimum of 2 years in customer service.
3.References required. Skills testing may be requested.
