Our client, a dental manufacturing company in Lynnwood, is currently looking for a Buyer who must be able to demonstrate knowledge of standard concepts and practices in Purchasing, proficiency of various MRP types and impact to inventory levels, and the ability to speak effectively with suppliers. This position will collaborate with the Warehouse team to ensure materials are received, back orders are minimized, returns to suppliers are completed, all in accordance with established policies, procedures, and best practices.

- Purchases assigned products at best total cost, consistent with quality, cost, delivery and other requirements at the site level, inclusive of following purchasing authority matrix and getting approval for purchase orders as appropriate.
- Maintain and review supplier performance reports to ensure conformance to supplier management goals (cost, quality, service, delivery).
- Plan, implement, and lead strategies for supplier management initiatives such as the supplier quality standard, cost improvement projects, value improvement projects (VIP) etc.
- Develop strong, ethical relationships with key suppliers to ensure a beneficial relationship.
- Works effectively with internal departments (warehouse ops, customer service, QA, etc.) to support goals.
- Develops understanding of all relevant purchasing/logistic computer systems to manage day-to-day activities such as open PO's, inventory, MRP reports, supplier reports, etc.
- Provide consultation to management and other groups regarding supplier issues, which may impact operations; effectively highlight issues in a material review board that impact downstream customers.
- Responsible for analyzing demand to secure best pricing and purchase appropriate inventory levels to ensure stock is sufficient but not excessive.
- Create cost saving opportunities through competitive bidding, negotiations, etc., where applicable, while maintaining ethical practices and win=win outcomes for both parties.
- Lead/assist with SCAR investigations related to products. Work with suppliers to ensure thorough investigations and root cause analysis in additional to internal team depending on where SCAR originated.
- Follow SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) and cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices)

Requirements:
- This position requires the individual to be able to make decisions based on the ERP system outputs as well as inventory policies, create purchase orders in alignment with supplier contracts, and manage the arrival of goods to fulfill customer needs.

- This position requires the ability to be detail-oriented, have good communication and negotiating skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

- Attention to detail and an ability to work in a fast paced environment are essential!
