About this job

The Meatcutter will perform all meat processing, sanitation, safety and stocking procedures on all fresh meat products (beef, pork, and chicken) as outlined by the company and directed by management.

  • Create a culture of food exploration, innovation and education for customers and employees.
  • Engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
  • Maintains a good rapport with vendors.
  • Orders product to ensure adequate supply and to maintain product quality, freshness and proper variety.
  • Performs receiving duties including: breaking down loads, cutting cases, stacking, pricing and marking merchandise, organizing cooler and storage areas and refrigerating products immediately.
  • Helps to ensure cost, quality and inventory control through verifying orders against invoices, auditing contents of product cases, and reporting shortages and claims to ensure proper billing.
  • Properly completes necessary forms and reports.
  • Stocks, rotates and faces product. Prevents shrink and product damage.
  • Ensures quality of goods by following code dating procedures. Prevents the sale of outdated products.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of the department.
  • Follows Division merchandising schematics and proper signing procedures.
  • Completes monthly inventories.
  • Performs training duties.
  • Other duties are directed.
