INDUSTRIAL REFRIGERATION MECHANIC - Full-time

Ahold eCommerce Sales Company (AES) is in search of a versatile and dynamic facility maintenance mechanic to be responsible for hands-on maintenance of the facilities, mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, building structure, material handling equipment, fire system, hazardous waste, and sanitation equipment for an expanded Peapod by Stop & Shop fulfillment operation in the NY Metro market.

Responsibilities:

• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service
• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
• Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines, ammonia refrigeration equipment, freezers, condensers and water treatment, waste management, conveyors and related equipment, forklift fleet, special projects, etc.
• Is available on-call for any facility emergency need
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Comply with company OSHA safety and health rules
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Essential Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Technical training; exposure to high-speed equipment a must
• 4+ years of related experience in industrial maintenance or ammonia refrigeration a must
• Blue Seal NJ Refrigeration license a plus
• Welding/fabricating a plus
• Electrical and plumbing experience a big plus
