Freight Forwarding Agent
Hours: Monday – Friday, 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Expedited Freight Forwarding experience is a must
• Preparing MAWB, HAWB, and Bills of Lading
• Bi-lingual in Spanish and English (preferred although not a requirement)
• 3-5 years of position-related experience is typically needed to perform your position at a competent level
• Experience in both import and export procedures
• Experience in customs documentation preparation
• Experience in Expedited Freight Forwarding
• Experience obtaining local pickup and delivery agents
• Experience with Aircraft on Ground (AOG) process and procedures
• Experience in Microsoft office products
Hours: Monday – Friday, 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Provide on-site coordination of Expedited Forwarding and Elite air and ground shipments.
- Coordinating import and export shipments at gateway, including shipment and document preparation, booking, customs clearance, as well as pick-up and delivery.
- A candidate with established contacts with airlines and carriers for bookings and preferred rates is ideal for this role. Experience in Expedited Freight Forwarding is a must.
- Coordination with airlines. Carriers and brokers to procure scheduling and rates, as well as administration of these activities
- Routing of shipments and preparation of pre-alert documentation
- Booking of all air and ground shipments with appropriate carrier
- Coordinates pick-up and delivery of shipments with shipper/consignee
- Enters all shipments and related information into Beacon as required in a timely manner
- Updates internal systems with shipment details and status as available in real-time
- Follow up on all Expedited shipments to ensure Customer commitments are met.
- Document Preparation specific to a given shipment, including but not limited to MAWB, HAWB, Commercial Invoice, and Certification of Origin
- Maintain carrier related tables and data in Beacon to keep system with the most up to date rates and services
- Develop route structures and pricing for large scale, complex domestic and international RFP’s.
- Develop pricing and routing for ground expedites, NFO air freight including; cargo airlines, passenger airlines, chartered aircraft, deferred air freight.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, carriers and vendors.
- Evaluate rates from vendors and carriers to ensure they are competitive and market based.
- Recommend rate changes based on market-based pricing to manager of Expedite operations.
- Prepare and analyze Expedite report on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Ensure Expedite emails and phones are covered.
