Essential Functions:
- Prepare and serve great espresso and coffee drinks according to the recipe
- Greet, educate and thank guests
- Speak with guests to provide suggestive/complimentary suggestions
- Inform guests of coffee, espresso and bakery items, personal favorites and compatible items
- Sample coffee, espresso and bakery items, keeping in mind the time of day, sales opportunities and weather
- Maintain a clean and well-stocked coffee & condiment area
- Follow all standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating and storing product.
- Be the coffee expert of the store:
- Be self-driven in acquiring knowledge of coffee and related products.
- Be well informed of ingredients, recipes and all items outlined in the Specialty's Coffee Manual
- Increase coffee knowledge of our team members and guests alike.
- Perform routine cleaning and ongoing maintenance on the coffee & espresso machines in keeping with our Barista Coffee Manual
- Perform additional projects/duties as assigned by management
- Be physically able to work an eight (8) hour day or more while on your feet
- Ability to read and speak English
- Able to bend and lift up to 35 lbs.
- Have the ability to perform basic mathematics on the spot
- Show sharp attention to detail
- Excellent guest service skills
