CAREGiver- Weekend - Part-time

Home Instead Senior Care is looking for compassionate individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of seniors in Omaha. Our team of CAREGivers assist seniors in our community with a variety of services and help them remain independent in their familiar surroundings. Training is provided.

Home Instead Senior Care offers a flexible schedule to our CAREGivers, whether it be part-time or full-time hours. Are you a working professional in the community wanting to make a difference in a senior's life during the evenings and weekends? Are you a health-care student needing a job that works around your class schedule? Are you retired and now have the time to fulfill your desire to make a difference in another person's life?

As a CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care, you will:

• Provide Companionship & Home Helper Services which could include:
  • Companionship and conversation
  • Providing stabilization and assistance with walking
  • Preparing meals and cleaning up meal-related items
  • Providing medication reminders and appointment reminders
  • Performing light housekeeping tasks (dusting, vacuuming, making beds, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, etc.)
  • Washing and ironing laundry
  • Running errands
  • Accompanying clients to appointments

• Provide Personal Services which could include:
  • Assisting with bathing
  • Assisting with grooming
  • Assisting with toileting and incontinence issues
• Provide Specialized Services which could include:
  • Advanced Alzheimer's/Dementia Care
  • Double Client Services
  • Customized Shift

Essential Job Requirements:

• Ability to speak and hear English clearly in person and on the telephone
• Ability to read and write English
• Ability to lift, push or pull 25 pounds
• Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel and reach
• Ability to consistently provide physical assistance to a client (i.e. stand-by assistance while walking, assist client with transfers)
• Complete a criminal background check, DMV check, pre-employment drug screen
• Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle with valid auto insurance
• Ability to withstand exposure to dust, mold, mildew and cleaning solutions
• Ability to treat and care for clients and their property with dignity and respect
• Ability to adapt to various living environments and locations
• Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
