Home Instead Senior Care is looking for caring and compassionate CAREGivers to become a part of our team and join our mission of enhancing the lives of aging adults throughout our community.  Home Instead Senior Care provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Reflect the core values of Home Instead Senior Care Merrick
  • Contribute to a positive living environment to enhance a client's quality of life
  • Document daily activities and report any significant changes in a client's needs or living conditions
  • Maintain regular communication with supervisor and office staff
Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Companionship and conversation
  • Providing stabilization and assistance with walking
  • Light housekeeping tasks (laundry, dusting, vacuuming, making beds, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens etc.)
  • Meal preparation
  • Medication and appointment reminders
  • Assistance with grooming and bathing
  • Assistance with toileting and incontinence issues
  • Running errands
  • Accompanying clients to appointments
  • Alzheimer's Care
  • Driving to assignments and driving clients to appointments and shopping
Requirements to be a CAREGiver:
  • **Current Home Health Aide Certification (HHA)
  • Must Possess a Valid Driver's License and Reliable Vehicle with Valid Auto Insurance
  • Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect
  • Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
  • Complete a criminal background check, DMV check and drug screen
  • Three (3) years minimum experience caring for seniors
  • Must provide positive professional references illustrating experience
