General Responsibilities

Job Purpose:
  • The Senior Analyst of Long Range Planning plays a key leadership role in working with the Treasury, Corporate FP&A, and the Strategy and Corporate Development teams in modelling the impact of potential strategic initiatives and various macro scenarios on Hertz earnings model.
  • The Senior Analyst also assists in leading the financial long range planning function for the organization, along with providing support to business units in developing and maintain long range planning and forecasting models/capabilities. The Senior Analyst / Manager acts as a liaison for Corporate areas and operating divisions regarding the company’s long range planning process (annual strategic plan and ongoing 3-5 year planning activities) relating to the corporate consolidated income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement.
  • The Senior Analyst also assists in leading the 13-week cash flow forecast
Key Result Areas:
  • Assist with all aspects of the corporate long range financial forecasting and analysis process.
  • Manage, enhance and maintain the company’s global long range planning model and capabilities.
  • Manage and providing on-going support for GAAP cash flow forecasting model in conjunction with Treasury.
  • Review income statements, balance sheets and cash flows to assist with trend analysis and identification of operational risks and/or opportunities.
  • Work with Treasury and operating divisions to forecast the firm’s long range corporate liquidity, leverage targets, and capital structure.
  • Model the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement impact of potential M&A activity, macro sensitivities, capital structure initiatives and other scenario analysis.
  • Provide analytical support on various special projects to enhance the financial decision making process.
  • Ensure consistent and timely reporting of financials for current estimates with full understanding of variances to prior estimate, business plan and prior year.
  • Assist in preparation of financial and strategic presentation materials associated with monthly/quarterly management and BoD meetings.
Mandatory Requirements

Educational Background :
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or other highly quantitative discipline is preferred.
  • MBA or equivalent is desired.
Professional Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in investment banking, strategic/management consulting, or similar corporate finance experience within a firm’s M&A / Corporate Development, Corporate FP&A or similar group is necessary. Industry experience in automotive, industrials or financial services is preferred, but not required.
Knowledge:
  • Demonstrated strong modelling skills.

  • Financial and business acumen.
  • Excellent PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, is essential.
