Director Corporate Social Responsibility

General Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Director of Corporate Social Responsibility is responsible for the development and implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility strategies to advance business, brand and reputation goals. The Director will lead our global sustainability, diversity and inclusion (D&I), community involvement and global corporate giving efforts on behalf of Hertz.

We are looking for an enthusiastic CSR professional to build/ elevate and manage our CSR program. As execution of the strategy may change, the Director will need to maintain flexibility.

Responsibilities:

• Excellent understanding of responsibility and sustainability concepts, including reporting and transparency, inclusion and diversity and engagement strategies
• Strong knowledge of social and environmental trends. Understanding of those trends relevant to the rental car / automotive industry is a plus
• Develop and implement CSR strategies and tactics that engage key constituents, build brand awareness and support business objectives
• Develop, launch/implement and manage our corporate responsibility and sustainability approach and framework, including periodic reporting metrics to engage employees, serve as a recruiting tool and reaffirm Hertz as a company with a strong CSR focus
• Work in close collaboration with key internal business leads, and counsel and inform senior leaders on CSR strategy
• Develop strategic external stakeholder relationships and links to professional organizations
• Oversee adherence to budget, performance requirements and work plans to achieve CSR goals
• Expand and manage measurement activities focused on responsibility and sustainability
• Provide leadership and guidance to the CSR team, with strong emphasis on team building, coaching and developing direct reports

Mandatory Requirements

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in similar roles; experience implementing similar programs in a corporate environment strongly preferred
• Ability to work within a complex and often ambiguous environment, and grow and expand our CSR strategies in alignment with the current state of the company
• Understanding of leading corporate responsibility standards and frameworks and experience implementing ongoing reporting metrics aligned to industry standards
• Exceptional ability to develop positive relationships and lead through influence with internal partners, build consensus and prioritize action and results
• Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills, including communicating and marketing sustainable efforts
• Critical and structured thinker with superior analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proven ability to develop and motivate direct reports

This role reports into Corporate Communications at Hertz and will be based at our World Headquarters in Estero, FL.
