Job Description

The Army National Guard uses television and film productions for projects such as training films, documenting military operations and ceremonies, and recording news events. In the process, our audiovisual and broadcast technician team faces all the challenges of a traditional A/V crew, including filming, script editing, and audio recording.

Visual Information Equipment Operator-Maintainers are vital members of that team. As such, you would work with teleconferencing visual interface equipment to support Guard operations.

The skills you learn as a Visual Information Equipment Operator-Maintainer will prepare you for a future with civilian film production companies, Government audiovisual studios, radio and television stations, and advertising agencies.

Earn while you learn
Instead of paying to learn these skills, get paid to train. In the Army National Guard, you will learn these valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance.

Job training for Visual Information Equipment Operator-Maintainers consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and 26 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. Training consists of both classroom and field work.
