BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or Bachelors degree in Nursing
* RD license required OR RN Texas license
* Certified Diabetes Educator Certification (CDE) is preferred, NOT required.
* 3-5 years of clinical experience doing carb counting, medication management, insulin management, diabetes pump experience, disease management
Office/ cubical environment, Schedule: 8 hour shifts between 7am-8pm, 40 hours per week, Shifts: 10-7p and 11-8p possibly working a rotating Saturday if business need is there.
The Registered Dietitian position will be a new department at the client site and a branch of the Start Right or the Guardian Connect division. These RD's will be receiving warm transfer calls from the Start Right team where they will be expected to answer clinical questions the patient may have. All patients are customers of the diabetic device the client offers. All questions will pertain to the patients care and treatment of diabetes. They will receive on average 10 calls per day where the calls will last anywhere from 15-30 minutes in length. The clinical RD will have to have great multitasking skills so they are able to discuss over the phone and answer questions while typing in information into the computer to document the patients data. The manager described this position as more of a consultative approach to treatment of diabetic patients. This is a brand new department to the company so the clinical nurse will have to be flexible with taking on a new position and be flexible to change if needed. They might also be involved in webinars and live chat with patients as well to educate them on better care practices.
