Our Prepared Foods department offers customers healthy, affordable meal solutions throughout the entire day. In this position, you’ll and prepare a variety of Wegmans core entrée and side dishes, while educating our customers about the exceptional ingredients and products we offer. Product (What We Do)
- Follow Wegmans core recipes, job aids, production lists, and proper knife skills to prep ingredients and ensure a quality and consistent outcome
- Maintain appearance of Chef’s case by refilling products, setting up supplies, and ensuring station is well-merchandised and signs are properly displayed
Results (What We Measure)
- Assist in prioritizing tasks to ensure all items on the daily production list are made and use resources such as WISE and MORIS to make effective decisions
- Perform opening and closing procedures, leaving the department ready for tasks to take place efficiently the next morning
- Ensure team members properly handle products, use equipment, keep accurate logs and follow sanitation practices in accordance with food and human safety guidelines and Simplification 5S procedures
Work Environment
- Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, repetitive hand and arm movements, bending, reaching, frequent lifting, and occasional heavy lifting, along with continuous interaction with customers and co-workers in a fast-paced environment. Work involves exposure to various work environments, including temperature changes. The average weight range of items lifted is 5-20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 50 pounds rarely. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction)
- Work may include use of hand pallet jack, power pallet jack, power walkie-reach, scissors lift or WAV unit. Wegmans certification required for use of power equipment

Preferred Qualifications- Associates
- Customer service experience preferably in a food service, restaurant, grocery or retail setting
- Experience working as a Cook III or pantry cook/ apprentice cook
- Experience working as a line cook
- Food preparation experience
