A day in the life...

  • Our team is seeking a highly motivated individual and utility player who will be responsible for supporting a wide variety of finance projects and responsibilities. From contributing to financial close, forecasting and budgeting cycles, to design and testing of new system implementations and integrations, to development and enhancement of business processes, this individual should enjoy a dynamic work environment and adding value to critical finance projects.
  • Contribute to month-end close process, account reconciliation, reporting and other analyses to ensure timely, accurate financial data that is in compliance with GAAP
  • Drive the financial forecasting and budgeting process for our customer loyalty programs including variance analysis and reporting
  • Develop financial models and related analytical tools to address business needs and support management decisions
  • Consistently evaluates processes for efficiency and effectiveness, and able to help develop new processes with new systems or integrations that create smooth work-flows and support business growth/scalability
  • Has both a broad understanding of the components of the overall control environment as well as the ability to identify individual control gaps and weaknesses in new or existing processes
  • Exemplifies role of continuous learning and curiosity, is proactive in delivering results and consistently strives to exceed expectations and goals
  • Deliver productivity through time efficiency and a commitment to strong results
  • Be able to articulate the Controller's Group and finance's role to other departments
  • Summarize financial data and explain processes and analysis in an appropriate level of detail for management, auditors and internal customers
  • Interpret financial data, analyze variances, and understand underlying transactions;
  • Identify issues, gather relevant information, summarize options and recommend solutions; operate in a detail-oriented manner
  • Develop and apply Oracle, Discoverer, Cognos and Essbase skills to find efficient ways to obtain and provide information to management and others
  • Flexible and willing to work evenings/weekends during busy times if necessary
  • Provide guidance or training to other team members; suggest and implement improvements to processes and procedures
  • Manage process changes and drive the decision making process
You own this if you have...

  • BS/BA in Accounting
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting rules
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Public accounting experience & CPA desired
  • Experience in the retail industry
