We are hiring for a Finance Manager in Bloomington, MN. This position is responsible for leading the financial support for the brand offerings in the Consumer Brands Group. You will provide financial reporting to assist brand, trade and sales groups in achieving their profitability and spending targets. This includes financial support on commercialization, new product introductions, A&P tracking, product portfolios and margin analysis. You will provide actionable information to Marketing, Sales, Trade and PI&D. You will also review and determine methods to achieve higher visibility to sku level profitability, provide Cost of Goods Sold analysis and the management of fixed and variable overhead. As a key member of the brand team, you are integral to assessing impact of changes to our product portfolios and distribution. This position reports to the VP of Consumer Brands Finance.
Responsibilities may include:
- Lead financial activities for brand elements including the coordination of planning, forecasting, reporting, analysis, and financial goal setting.
- Supervise and mentor 3 financial professionals in the financial management of the various brands for Consumer Brands.
- Support the corporate budgeting and forecasting process as requested.
- Monitors attainment of financial and non-financial metrics for the business. Looks to understand cost drivers and prepares analysis to collaboratively address the cost drivers. Understands the drivers of revenue and gross margins, educates CB staff and decision-makers regarding financial results, and how the results are prepared.
- Works closely with marketing and PI&D on new product costing and the collaborative effort to bring a new product to market, including product costing, timing, slotting, and allocated amounts.
- Work collaboratively with all departments and other business units to achieve financial results via revenue growth and cost reduction
- Special Projects as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent; MBA preferred
Years of Related Experience: Typically has a minimum of 8 to 10 years related experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Understanding of accounting principles, including current revenue recognition rules and cost accounting and the effect of leverage within fixed cost structures
- Understanding of how to build a profit and loss statement
- Knowledge of commercialization process within CPG strongly preferred
- Excellent Project Management, influencing, problem-solving, and data analytics skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities
