Job Description Summary:
Responsible for the cleaning of a specific area delegated by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Director of Rooms. To maintain the cleanliness of guest corridors, service areas, linen closets and employee and guest related areas, i.e., cleans rooms and halls in the hotel, and restaurants by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:

Makes beds and cleans rooms as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Director of Rooms.

Restocks supplies closets on a daily basis or as needed.

Cleans lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways.

Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors and stairwell.

Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.

Dusts corridor furniture.

Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork in corridors.

Washes windows, door panels, and sills.

Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays.

Transports trash and waste to disposal area.

Replaces light bulbs.

Removed used linen from beds.

Removes garbage and debris from guest rooms.

Picks up dirty linen from guest rooms as needed and delivers to the laundry.

Distributes rollaway, cribs, irons/boards, hair dryers, etc. as per guest request, and ensure proper storage upon the guests departure.

Polish all brass daily.

Vacuum all guest corridors daily, edge when needed.

Keep elevator free of debris, and ensure brass is clean and free of fingerprints.

Keep public ash urns clean and emptied.

Check public restrooms throughout shift to ensure cleanliness and that they are stocked with the proper supplies.

Keep hotel entrance free of debris and all glass doors free of finger marks.

Any other tasks assigned by the Rooms Manager or Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
