This dynamic, rapidly growing company is seeking a Product Designer to join its Chicago-area headquarters. This position will be part of the Product Team.

Job Summary

The Product Designer will have an entrepreneurial flair, be willing to iterate fast they won’t fall in love with the first, second or even third iteration but will fall in love with the process of creating amazing impactful work.  We need this person to help us unlock the value in the DaaS and Data we provide the market.

We need someone who is driven to design simple, elegant and intelligent ways that enable data to tell the stories it is destined to tell.  Do you love a great dashboard? Do you see designs in everyday things that make you cringe? Then you might be the right person for us.

You will be expected to work directly across the product and development teams to help solve complex problems using a user-centered design process. This means both leading the design process, and being able to communicate your ideas clearly to others.  We need our designer to be able to bridge ideas, unify vision and bring products to life by creating visual artifacts that clarify and simplify communication across the organization. Oh yes, we need help making things look pretty too.

        You’ll be expected to:

  • Have a fundamental understanding of wireframes, prototypes, IA documentation, personas, design research, and usability testing.
  • Plan, conduct, and analyze design research
  • Design effective, innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Define information architecture, interaction design, and functional requirements for products across various mediums, including desktop. Mobile and even API’s
  • Communicate ideas clearly
  • Translate low fidelity interaction design (wireframes) into polished, high fidelity UI designs
  • Give well-reasoned feedback to other members of the product team, and accept feedback on your work
  • Effectively manage tasks across multiple projects

Responsibilities and Duties

As a Product Designer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct various research that generates actionable insights to inform product design and development decisions
  • Create the user flows and wireframes that best support the users intentions and goals
  • Design and test to find the simplest solution to the problem
  • Tame the complexity of technology to deliver user friendly products that conform to usability guidelines
  • Enhance the look and feel of the product by designing and improving new and existing UI components
  • Oversee the user experience of a product from conception until launch (and then some)
  • Show keen eye for detail and ability to adhere to deadlines within fast paced environment
  • Help iterate and maintain the visualization of the Infutor product roadmap.

Qualifications and Skills

 

  • Degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience working in a design related field
  • Portfolio demonstrating UX/UI design skills
  • Proficient in Sketch or other prototyping tools and working knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • You thrive in an entrepreneurial environment where innovation, speed of decision making and execution are critical to success
  • Cross functional partnership & leadership skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A self-motivated, team player who is comfortable in a fail fast environment
