Operational Excellence is an element of organizational leadership that focuses on applying principles, tools, and systems to drive sustainable continuous improvement. 

  • This position will sit out of Denver, relocation required and provided
  • Bachelor’s degree (Technical discipline preferred)
  • Lean Black Belt required
  • 5+ years’ experience in continuous process improvement in a Manufacturing environment
  • 5 years related experience, including experience with electronic equipment in a repair, production/manufacturing environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Master’s degree is a plus
  • Lean Master Black Belt,or Six Sigma Black Belt is a plus
  • Must have executive-level written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to prepare and present return on investment analysis
  • Must be capable of using hand tools
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex technical information
  • Ability to communicate advanced technological information/business processes at various levels
  • Ability to develop, use, and read AutoCAD drawings
  • Work with executive leadership to select and prioritize projects to ensure work aligns with strategic goals
  • Lead process improvement efforts. Establish sustainable processes for improvement activities
  • Lead matrixed teams through effective delegation, handling escalated issues and evaluating workload
  • Create project plans and guide team members, including personnel certified at the Green and Yellow Belt levels, to complete projects in a timely manner 
  • Assist and Lead other team members to become Lean Black Belts
  • Train other team members on how to use Lean and Six Sigma tools and techniques, such as value stream mapping, control charts, histograms and root cause analysis
  • Assist OPEX Manager by providing team members with better methods of performing standard duties
  • Teach Lean Simulation workshops and New Hire Orientations
  • Identify, remove, and minimize the impact of manufacturing opportunities through waste elimination, increased capacity, improved efficiency, improved logistics, and reduced complexity
  • Interface with all areas in the manufacturing center or other departments to develop and assist with Lean processes.
  • Model 5S methodology, lead implementation of 5S properly across the center
  • Role Model - It is expected that an OPEX leader will set high standards and pursue improvement opportunities while encouraging other Dish associates to embrace the lean culture
  • Manage weekly, monthly operating rhythm and communication mechanisms to keep others informed and drive accountability
