Working at Nordstrom Rack is a team sport. As an Assistant Department Manager, you'll wear many hats - you'll be a mentor, your team's biggest fan, as well as a driver of business. In this role, you'll set the example by ...

• Being all about the team, partnering with the department manager to recruit, hire and train, as well as develop and motivate your employees. You'll lead by example how to deliver amazing customer service every day
• Assisting the department manager in creating a solid business plan that enables your team to work together to meet department, store and individual goals as well as maintain accurate inventory
• Collaborating with the department manager to ensure you have the merchandise your customers will love
• Sharing your knowledge and excitement about the latest product with your team and with customers while maintaining a regular floor presence
• Working with your department manager to ensure the department stays "runway ready" through stocking, re-merchandising and straightening throughout the day
• Assisting the department manager in ensuring accurate inventory management and achieve shrinkage goals

You own this if you...

• Have the support of your current manager
• Have a proven track record of successful results, for example leader in customer service, strong productivity, etc.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment thanks to your strong people, organizational and delegation skills as well as your follow-through and ability to juggle competing priorities
• Are able to use key metrics to identify opportunities and drive volume
• Have proven abilities to develop and maintain relationships with store partners
• Have a positive evaluation on recent performance reviews
• Have the ability to develop a team of All Stars, Future Nordstrom Leaders, etc.
• Have Full-line store selling experience, although not required
• Are an FNL or Internship graduate? Even better
