A successful Business Operations Analyst will have the following:

  • At least a BS in a quantitative field such as statistics, data science, or business analytics (MS or MBA is preferred)
  • Experience with large database SQL platforms as well as wide-column or NoSQL stores, and related environments, frameworks, and engines (e.g., Teradata, Hadoop, Hive, Impala)
  • Experience with creating extracts and visualizations in Tableau.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write reports and procedure documents related to training
  • Capacity to deliver a technical message to a non-technical audience
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical abilities, with proficiency in mathematical concepts and ability to define problems, seek and collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

DISH currently has an opportunity for a strongly motivated Business Operations Analyst on the Tech Ops Analytics team.  The Tech Ops Analytics team is an important part of the larger Technical Operations team, which serves as the liaison between Customer Experience Operations (CXO) and different departments at the corporate office. This position will be filled by a detail-oriented individual with a strong analytical background and the ability to handle a fast-paced environment, with often changing and competing priorities. The ability to connect data to real world problems and solutions will be the key to being successful in this role.

 

Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

  • Perform ad hoc analysis for a wide variety of departments and projects
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on product initiatives and issues, as well as our technical call skills
  • Conduct product performance analytics to quickly identify and escalate issues
  • Build automated daily, weekly, and monthly reports for a variety of groups and individuals
  • Identify outliers and root causes of problems and develop plans for improvement
  • Use findings to partner with other departments within the company on process improvement
