D/C Maintenance Mechanic - Non Exempt
JOB SUMMARY
Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs all conveyor, sortation and related material handling equipment; heating; HVAC, plumbing and/or other specialized areas to ensure proper, safe and efficient mechanical/electrical operations within the Distribution Center. Installs new or modifies existing equipment or systems, and as necessary designs, fabricates and installs specialized equipment
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Major Areas of Responsibility Repairs and maintains machinery, mechanical and/or electrical equipment to include motors, pumps, conveyers, hydraulics, electro-mechanical control systems, power equipment, safety devices, or other specialized equipment. Examines parts and equipment to diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs or installations in accordance with established safety procedures. Inspects completed repairs or installations.
Maintains and repairs a variety of building operation systems to include plumbing, electrical, heating, refrigeration, sprinklers, etc. Inspects completed repairs.
Recommends and implements improvements to equipment, operations and procedures. Requisitions new parts and equipment. May contact vendors for service or parts.
Performs special projects or duties as assigned
May assist or guide other maintenance associates in preventative maintenance of equipment and/or safety procedures.
JOB KNOWLEDGE
Minimum formal education, if any, required to perform this job e.g., Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Law Degree). High School diploma or equivalent plus vocational training in a related technical field. State Licensure or proven knowledge and experience in one or more areas (Electrical, Welding, HVAC, Plumbing, etc.
Two to three years experience in industrial maintenance field with demonstrated preventative maintenance experience in material handling systems. Proven proficiency in one or more of the following areas; electrical/electronics, welding/fabrication, HVAC/refrigeration, plumbing, electrohydraulics, mechanical and electrical drive systems. Willingness to work various shifts to meet business needs
Minimum job skills required to perform this job (for example: programming languages, strong interpersonal skills, computer software packages).
Minimum experience required to perform this job.
