POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE:

Grill

SUMMARY:

Maximize the guest experience by cooking small batches of grilled meat products several times during the shift, cooking and cutting grilled meat products as close to the time they are served as possible. In most restaurants, will be assigned to multiple stations throughout the shift.

JOB DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
  • Must be able to operate specific cooking equipment, cut food products, and/or prepare orders.
  • Uses the production sheet (pars) as a guide for each of the products on the grill to determine the needs of the business.
  • Cuts the prepared meats during slower periods or as needed by the Manager.
  • Assures that grills have the correct temperature and the burners and valves are in good condition.
  • Uses the correct equipment and tongs for the different cooking stages and products.
  • Maintains the grill area and keeps the area stocked.
  • Must have constant communication with the manager on duty and informs the manager if short on product or if products are spoiled.
  • Practices all food safety guidelines as in the Food Handlers Certification.
  • Completes all closing procedures.
  • Follows the cleaning procedures when cleaning the stations and equipment.
  • Must be able to read and follow written instructions.
  • Maintains sanitation and temperature standards in all product preparation following applicable Health Department Codes and Regulations.
  • Works within all company policies, procedures and standards.

 SAFETY PRACTICES:

  • Ensures equipment is in good working condition.
  • Uses aprons, cut resistant gloves, non-slip shoes and back belt.

PHYSICAL:

  • Occasional lifting of bags and boxes weighing up to 30 pounds.  There is heavy cleaning involved.  Prolonged periods of standing, walking, reaching, bending, cutting and working at or near open flames.

REQUIREMENTS

Must be 18 yrs or older (OSHA requirements). Bilingual skills in English and Spanish is preferred. High school diploma or GED equivalent desired. Some experience in a food preparation position preferred.
